I'm a musician who does a lot of different things and enjoys all of them: I'm a keyboard player (and occasional violinist, accordionist, and singer) for several bands and artists in the Chicago area. I also compose and arrange music in many styles, for a wide range of ensembles and applications ranging from small bands to choirs, big jazz bands and full orchestras. I've spent a fair amount of time in recording studios both as a session player and as a producer for various artists.
This channel is sort of a playground/showcase for some of my own ideas. A lot of what I do professionally involves working with other peoples' musical ideas and striving to make them the best they can be, which I love. Over the past couple years, I've had a bit of an itch to express some creativity of my own, and UA-cam seems like an excellent avenue for that. In addition, I enjoy sharing some of the tips and tricks of musicianship that I've stumbled across during my journey so far. I hope you enjoy!

Is there a WAV version of this MIDI? I know there's the MIDI version of it, but I'm searching for the WAV version of the sample.
I'm your newest fan
An exelent funky tutorial, thanks you!!!1
Thanks that’s very generous and helpful. Having been in music school in the 80s, as a bassist/guitarist, I learned all the theory and good stuff, but starting out again on keyboard technique is what I seek 🎶 (hmm)… and this is excellent! I subscribed. You’re very cool! Yep!!!😃🎶🎶🎶
Pure gold, thanks! It's tough to find good tutorials on playing piano grooves. 👍🏼

I didn't know Sam Kinnison could play that well!!!😂😂😂
Thank you and GOD bless you. Amen
Lmfao the copyright 😭😭💀💀💀
Nice bro teach me that funk 😂😂😂😂
You are AMAZING man!!! Please come back!
this is awesome!
Really the 'bubble' is actually just the left hand doing all the off beat semiquavers trying to sound like a conga or percussion instrument that gets your head bobbing, the right hand should play staccato chords up high in unison with the rhythm guitar 'skank' on the two and four with a different sound like piano for that classic roots reggae...
Thanks man
This lesson is really fun to watch. Thank you so much for the tips! I cant wait to be able to play this.
Thank you!!
Very cool tutorial. thx
EXCELLENT tutorial!
Hi. What's this musical genre/sub-genre or style called?
wow nice! Random happen-upon-omous
this is honestly A+
I knew it would have been a good choice to search "Super Mario bros 2 overworld jazz"
That was funky! Nice
that intro is so fucking sick michael
My problem is that i'm afraid that if i could learn to play funky clavinet like this cat i might never get up from the keyboard. Gonna try it anyway.
Not necessarily a bad thing lol
why is the piano that broken?
Thats different. Growing up in the islands and every music i heard or played was reggae. Always drum and bass first in that order. All the other melodies came after drum and bass foundation or root of the reggae beat. Its what we call the heart beat which is also from the nayahbingi drum. He did it differently but it turned out great.
I've been trying to learn some of Fess's and James Booker's licks, so this is right down my alley. Thank you. 🎹🎹🎹🎹👍
You R the man
I’ve been playing and teaching drums for 40 years. I haven’t played piano since college. This lesson taught me more in 5 minutes than I learned in college. You have a gift teaching piano . I’m a fan. 🎼🙏🏽
Of all the covers of this on UA-cam, this one’s the best.
